It is not new information that Jill Stein will parrot whatever the Putin party line is, and the Russian invasion of the Ukraine is no exception.
At a rally in Washington on February 21, she said:
“The Ukraine conflict is accelerating destruction of the climate which is already at the brink of collapse the bottom line is this this war and the war machine that it’s a part of are endangering and impoverishing all of us.”
True. But most people would regard this as a reason to oppose the Russian invasion, not apologize for it or attempt to justify it.
“The US war machine is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.”
No, the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today is Putin, a war criminal.
“The US so-called war on terror continues in 85 countries, which people did not hear about.”
The reason why we haven’t heard about it is, it isn’t true.
“The Russian invasion was a provoked response to an even bigger more murderous illegal game plan of the U.S. Empire in which defeating Russia is just one small part. So yes, Russia illegally invaded Ukraine but did so with a gun to its head or in this case nuclear-compatible missiles to its head.”
So, it’s the “U.S. Empire”‘s fault that Putin ordered the invasion? Nonsense, and the admission that the invasion is illegal is talking out of both sides of her mouth.
She “urged people to follow the example of Kennedy, who had the good sense to back off and negotiate during the Cuban Missile Crisis.”
Again, this is ridiculous. It’s Putin that has to have the good sense to back off, and whatever negotiation takes place must be with Zelenskyy, not Biden or anyone is his administration. It’s wicked of Tofu Palin to suggest that the U.S. should sell Ukraine out.
The question here should be, why does anyone pay attention to what this nitwit says?
